On this week's Listener Series episode, we welcome Libby to share her story with us. Libby experienced a missed miscarriage and then got pregnant again shortly after, her pregnancy seemed to be going well until she woke up about a week away from her due date and her water broke and her baby's cord fell out into her hand. Libby was experiencing a cord prolapse and happened to know exactly what to do because she had just recently read a midwifery book that described what a cord prolapse is and what to do in that situation. Libby was brought by ambulance to her hospital and had an emergency c-section under general anesthesia and her daughter spent 24 hours in the NICU and is thriving. Libby shares about how she has processed her trauma and started EMDR therapy in her subsequent pregnancy with their second daughter and that helped her navigate a VBAC.
