1) Inflation – Why is this the #1 economic issue we are facing today?
a. Higher costs effect everyone. Period.
b. Those most effected are who are on fixed income and in the lower economic brackets and or third world nations.
c. Need to stop printing money and have more responsible fiscal policies
d. Genie is out of the bottle, now we must work through the inflationary environment.
e. Russia is at 23%!!!! – Video Log on youtube of grocery store with prices jumping 30-40% on basic goods in Russia.
2) What is inflation currently at as of March and where do you see it going moving forward?
a. WSP is @ 11.2% and is an indicator of where CPI will be moving forward
b. Increased production and energy cost will lead to higher consumer goods costs such as wheat, coffee, groceries etc.
c. America will probably be okay but get used to paying for much higher prices for everything.
d. Higher wages and higher production costs will also affect company profits moving forward. Can’t lower wages that quickly and can only raise prices so fast.
3) Recovery Times – How long does it take to recover from different drawdown periods and why is that important for investors?
a. The greater the drawdown, the higher the recovery needs to be to be back at even
b. Reduce the Downside! And you won’t need as great an upside
4) What is WTWM doing to reduce the downside potential while preserving growth potential?
a. More defensive names
b. Adding in uncorrelated Assets such as PRIVX and BTIDX
5) Why is having longer term Fixed Income risky moving forward?
a. Long term Fixed income is going to struggle as they continue to raise interest rates over the next year or two.
