Sleep is essential. We need it and it helps us have a better quality of life. 

If you have trouble sleeping here are 3 quick tips to enhance your sleep:

1. Don't eat 2 hours prior to bed. It is simply best to set a deadline for yourself and not eat. If you eat too close to bed it could make it harder to fall asleep. I know for me personally I get nightmares if I eat to close to bed and I have a hard time staying asleep. The next morning I usually feel a lot more sluggish. So I recommend to avoid eating close to bed.

2. Limit screen time prior to sleeping. This can be hard as I love watching a quick easy T.V show like The Office, or New Girl before bed. The main culprit is blue light coming at you at night which stimulates your brain when you don't want that when you are winding down. Ideally blue light glasses while watching T.V minimally 30 minutes before you are trying to sleep. Generally no screen time 30 minutes before bed is ideal as then you get rid of all artificial stimulation!

3. Chill out. Read for a few minutes, meditate or self reflect. This is a great way to wind down. Sometimes it can be hard to sleep if you are still running on all cylinders from the day, so deliberately taking time to wind down will help you relax and get the proper rest you need.
