Today I was out running in preparation for a half marathon.... it sucked.
Rainy and windy
My feet got wet very early
Multiple unexpected bathroom breaks
My back and my knee need to stretch midway through
My shorts were so wet they kept falling down
My heart rate monitor kept falling off my chest
Half the trail was getting splashed or was unavailable
I could go on but you get the point.
Whenever you are going for something just remember things will go wrong. You have two choices. Call it a day or just keep going. Determine which choice benefits you and your goal the most, and then do it. It will not always be the perfect situation, so might as well make the most out of it.
