GWAR, short for "God What an Awful Racket," is an iconic American metal band known for their over-the-top stage performances, elaborate costumes, and humorous and often controversial lyrics. Formed in Richmond, Virginia, in 1984, GWAR quickly gained a reputation for their unique blend of heavy metal, punk rock, and shock rock theatrics.

The band's live shows are legendary spectacles, drawing fans from all over the world who eagerly participate in the chaotic and messy experience. GWAR's music and stage presence have influenced numerous bands in the metal and punk genres, and their impact on the underground music scene is undeniable.
