Maurice Wilson was a Pommie war hero turned lunatic adventurer which involved flying a biplane that he drove like a drunken lost taxi driver.
After his war heroics big Moz was in search of something and like most 20 something shellshocked blokes his plan was not that well thought out.
He craved attention from the English elite and he thought the best way to do that was to become famous. So he decided to climb Mount Everest but not from the bottom up, he was going to fly his plane into the side of it, survive and then climb the rest of the way.
With success of this nutbag journey he'd write himself into the record books and be admired by the pretentious Poms but not every story has a happy ending and Maurice Wilson's personal journey and uphill climb is a pretty wacky tale.
