Let’s start off with a scripture that as we move through this message will be explained and make more sense than it might being left out here all by itself.
1 John 3:17 - 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
There is no hoop to jump through that results in any preconceived notion of a big payoff in either money, prestige, or position. There is no brass ring, in fact the notion that the ring is brass and not gold should tell you who probably created this saying in the first place as no one wants to give up the gold who has the gold. Ha no brass ring anyway no how. There is no ladder rung worthy of steppin’ ceptin the one that extends from heaven to earth with angles ascending and descending (Gen 28:12). All of these ambitional traps do nothing but lead you away from your true purpose and calling. They are, as the bibles states of those that believe in them hypothetically speaking, clouds without rain. They do not produce what people think they produce. Let look:
