Matt 5:48 - 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Cut are we from the same cloth right?
Matt 19:21 - 21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
Notice Jesus didn’t say you would be saved but that you could be perfect and follow Jesus. Even Jesus knew how to wait before gospel inundating someone.
Now we are talking! Perfection here. I remember as a kid that I often wondered why this thing, that is consistently doing things right – being perfect, wasn’t possible. It is super possible that I wondered of such things due to being abused by my father beginning at around 5-yrs of age. In and through the process the bible was read to me and it may have been that it was understood in a 5-year old mind that perfection was unachievable depending on the scriptures being read to me? But my young mind wanted to know why? Ha yes hey God why can’t we be perfect? I know it was 56-years ago and I still remember talking to God about perfection. I was intrigued with God as if I really believed He was real. I remember closing my eyes really tight and trying to find Him in the darkness of my mind. Try it its ok we won’t look.
