The Curious Midlife Podcast With Julie Thom
In our latest episode of The Curious Midlife, we dive into the dynamic world of Julie Thom, a distinguished Wellness and Movement coach with an unyielding passion for optimizing the nervous system through movement and lifestyle.

Julie isn't your ordinary coach. Her love for puzzles is mirrored in her approach to the human body, which she views as the ultimate dynamic challenge. Her journey started with a personal injury during her swimming career. Faced with the option of surgery or exploring alternative paths, she chose the latter, leading her to discover the healing power of movement and holistic modalities.

Over the years, Julie’s fascination with the human body has only grown, leading her to obtain an impressive list of training and education. She holds a Bachelors in Kinesiology, a Masters in Human Kinetics and a Ph.D in Sorts Physiology. She has accumulated over 20 diverse certifications in the health and fitness industry. She's worked tirelessly to acquire this knowledge, developing a unique approach that encompasses myofascial release, mobility, rehabilitation, and restorative programming.

As well as being an exceptional wellness coach, Julie is an adventurer at heart. She's traversed six continents, with only Antarctica left to explore. As a Canadian native, she's content to leave the frosty continent off her itinerary. Her love for adventure hasn't waned with the birth of her three energetic kids. Instead, they've become companions in her exploration of the world's rich cultures, people, and histories.

But her journey doesn't stop there. Julie is also the proud owner of Fitomize, a beacon of wellness for many, and has served as a Canfitpro PRO TRAINER for 11 years. She is a mother, a coach, a trainer, a motivator, and an educator. She finds peace in nature, preferably barefoot, and draws energy from the natural world.

In this episode, we delve deep into Julie’s fascinating career, her personal journey through wellness coaching, and her experience healing the nervous system by understanding trauma and the mind-body connection. This is a great episode for anyone that wants to understand how to heal themselves from a holistic lens while beginning to understand how emotional trauma manifests in the body!
