Psalm, Chapter 104
The Lord’s Care over All His Works.
104 Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great;
You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
2 Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak,
Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.
- The title is “The Lord’s Care over All His Works”
o First, please note “The Lord’s Care”
o He does care and He will take care of everything He made
o Second, note that He takes Care over All His works (not just some)
o This means birds, trees, flowers, animals, fishes, everything & everyone!
§ This includes you
§ This includes your family
- O Lord, my God
o This is a confession of faith but in the context of relationship (my God)
- You are very great
o God Himself is very great (no one and/or no thing can compare)
- You are clothed with splendor and majesty
o This goes way beyond mere clothes
o It speaks of His glory, beauty, power, righteousness, awesomeness!
- Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak
o God wraps Himself in light like putting on a sweater or a jacket
o Imagine being able to bend light into any shape you wanted too
- Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain
o This means He simply rolls it our so everyone can see it
o He rolling out planets, stars, moons, universes like a ten curtain
3 [a]He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters;
[b]He makes the clouds His chariot;
[c]He walks upon the wings of the wind;
4 [d]He makes [e]the winds His messengers,
[f]Flaming fire His ministers.
- He lays beams of His upper chambers in the waters
o This means God builds His house even in the midst of water
- He makes the clouds His chariot
