Psalm, Chapter 15
Description of a Citizen of Zion.
A Psalm of David.
15 O Lord, who may [a]abide in Your tent?
Who may dwell on Your holy hill?
- In Chapter 14 we looked at a description of worldly men
o We looked at the folly of Men who say there is no God
- In Chapter 15 we have a description of a Citizen of Zion
o Zion is a reference to the mountain in Jerusalem where God will rule and reign from when He returns to the earth
o It is a picture of citizens of the New Jerusalem
§ A 1,500-mile cube made of precious jewels floating above Jerusalem
§ You might way it’s a picture of a citizen of heaven
§ It is the opposite of the picture we saw in chapter 14
2 He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness,
And speaks truth in his heart.
- He walks with integrity if the first description
o Integrity is a description of what a man or woman does when nobody is looking
o Yet they conduct themselves according to the way God would expect them too
- And works of righteousness
o This means righteousness at work
o Doing things, working for God knowing that whatever you do, you do it as unto the Lord; therefore, you always try to do what is right and try to do it with the best of your ability
§ Does this describe your conduct today?
- And speaks truth in his heart
o To speak truth in your heart is to speak that which agrees with God’s word
o And if it is from the heart it is what you believe at your very core
§ It’s not just a book
