Description

Psalm, Chapter 65

God’s Abundant Favor to Earth and Man.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song.

65 There will be silence [a]before You, and praise in Zion, O God,
And to You the vow will be performed.

-          The title of this message is God Abundant Favor to Earth and Man

o   First we should note that God’s Abundant Favor

§  It belongs to God alone

§  He decides to give to Abundantly (more than enough to overfilling)

o   Next God’s abundant was given to Earth & Man

§  The earth is full of God’s abundance

·         Look at the wheat fields

·         Look at the crops of corn, vegetables & fruit

·         Look at the abundance of water, animals & food

·         Consider the sunrise & sunsets every day (brand new artwork)

·         Look at the trees, flowers, colors, shapes, smells, taste

§  And Man is full of God’s abundance too

·         The ability to procreate children

·         The ability to learn and create new things

·         The ability to see and hear and understand or comprehend

·         The ability to taste and eat or drink to enjoy the abundance of the earth physically internally

·         The ability to read His Word and gain wisdom and knowledge to learn about our creator and wonderful Savior

·         If you have $20 in your pocket, a roof over your head and groceries in the refrigerator you are among the top 2% wealthiest in the world

o   Again this message is for the choir director so it was meant to be a song that would taught, sang and remembered – because its an important message that we will need to be reminded about

-          Now if verse 1

-          There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion, o God

o   When God’s speaks everyone will listen

o   His thoughts; His words; are the most important to listen to always

o   So be quiet and listen (the proper direction is God talks; we listen)

o   And the more you listen to God; the more praise will fill your heart, mind, lungs, mouth and tongue (instead of talking; we give God praise!)

-          And to You the vow will be performed

o   A vow is a promise

o   It is like the promise God made to Abraham that in him all the nations of the world would be blessed (not maybe).

o   God promised Abraham and his children that they would inherit the land and many other blessings (they still apply to today).

o   And when a man makes a vow to God, he had better keep it (this is serious business)
