Mission Statement:
Voi’s mission is to deliver the most comprehensive, innovative solutions to help hospitals and health systems, government agencies, educational institutions, families, and communities detect, intervene, support, and care for people at risk for suicide and living with behavioral health issues.
Rick identifies and connects with organizations working to provide mental health care services to patients, employees, veterans, and service members. As a U.S. Marine Corps leader for 30 years, Rick has seen first-hand the devastating impact untreated mental health issues has on individuals and their loved ones. He is confident that, with sufficient focus, detection and effective treatment of mental health issues can be dramatically improved.
Previously, Rick served as a Vermont Assistant Attorney General, taught strategy and planning at the U.S. Naval War College, worked as the Associate Director of The Dartmouth Institute (a health policy think-tank), and created and helped lead Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health system’s innovation center.
It is never easy to talk about suicide or death. It is what inspired me to try and do something that may positively impact our community to bring attention to the importance of mental health. Rick’s history of performing root cause analyses of the suicides of his marines and sailors is a perspective that is very unique and is one heck of a burden to bare. That perspective has to be so insightful for Voi and other companies that he is working with. I really appreciated the opportunity to have him join and share that insight with us.
