Celebrating Ildi Sebestyén during Women's History Month. Ildi is a mother, daughter, sister, wife, auntie, friend, and she’s also known as Doula Ildi, a certified birth doula and co-founder of The Budding Belly. 

A birthing support and education organization based in New York. As a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, she supports individuals and families throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. She believes that everyone should receive evidence-based, unbiased information to be able to self-advocate and choose the care they desire for the best possible perinatal experience. 

Raised in Szeged Hungary, she obtained a master’s degree in Biology, Anthropology and Pharmacology.

Having lived and worked in four different countries around the world, and with fluency in three languages, she has a unique appreciation of cultural and linguistic nuances.

Currently living in Westchester, NY, when she is not assisting births, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, hiking, cooking, baking and skiing.
