Professional screenwriter (Disney's The Princess), storyteller, author, Jake Thornton, intimately shares his authentic truth as a creative, growing up as an actor in London, touring the world in a show, coming to America for a girl, being called back seven times for a Robert Zemeckis Beatles film, almost moving in with Courtney Love, and how he met his current wife, Siri Baruc Thornton on the set of a job. Jake shares how he came up with the script idea for and manifested a million dollar, four-studio bidding war sale for his first sold script. He shares vulnerably about how he overcomes doubts and fears as a writer and family man, how to stay calm during a writers' strike, and how not to give up on what's truly your current passion in life in the face of uncertainty.
Born in London, Jake Thornton’s passion for storytelling began with his training as an actor at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He refined his creative instincts on stage, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in London’s iconic West End, immersing himself in the art of character and narrative.
Jake moved to Los Angeles to expand his career into filmmaking, combining his theatrical roots with a visionary approach to storytelling. He built a successful screenwriting career, selling and developing projects with major studios and networks, including Columbia Pictures, Amazon Studios, SyFy, Warner Brothers Television, and The CW. Notable among his achievements is an adaptation of the legendary Final Fantasy video game franchise for Sony Television and their original screenplay The Princess, a dynamic action film released domestically on Hulu and internationally on Disney+ in 2022.
