Robert Baruc has successfully launched and operated independent film
distribution companies for over 25 years. He began his career by heading up Academy Entertainment from 1985 to 1991, growing this company into one of the most profitable independent home video labels in the US, with annual sales of
over 23 million and 3.5 million of profits. In 1993, he founded A-Pix Entertainment, which quickly became one of the premiere independent home entertainment companies in the US. While President of A-Pix, he started the production and
theatrical arm, Unapix Films. This division of Unapix Entertainment grew from a start up to sales of over 30 million and profits of over 10% annually. From 2001 to 2011, Mr. Baruc was President of Screen Media Films, which released films theatrically, on DVD, TV and all digital platforms. This was a start up division of Screen Media
Ventures that reached annual sales of 28 million and was consistently profitable.
Mr. Baruc has spent his entire career building solid financial companies from the ground up. His expertise is in assessing the marketplace and implementing strategies to attain maximum sales and substantial profits.
During the past seven years Mr. Baruc has been a financial and marketing consultant to independent film companies, including Big Air Studios, SP Releasing, Echo Bridge Entertainment and Tri-Coast Worldwide. Mr. Baruc has Executive Produced over 40 films and has acquired and marketed over 500 films into the US marketplace. He is nationally recognized as one of the top marketers of independent films in
the home entertainment field. He has lectured at NYU, Columbia University and The New School as well as teaching Film Marketing at Hunter College.
