Description

We continue our discussion with Leonor Marquez, CEO of LBU Clinic, in Dallas, Texas. We discuss language and communication as a preventer of health inequity but look at other critical aspects to ensuring inclusive healthcare for everyone.

Our guest, Leonor Marquez, CEO of LBU Clinic, agrees that DEI training is not a one-and-done process but a process that requires humility to realize we don’t know everything about DEI. However, if we commit to learning about others and their culture, we can make a difference and positively influence the lives of those we serve. LBU Clinic has committed to learning more as they continue to serve the diverse cultures. Leonor points out that it begins with a concern for equity. This episode discusses how to respect those needing healthcare and how providers can create awareness of their cultural needs and be empathetic.
