Tom and Bert discuss the 1960's Movies and Music with the slang of the day and the powerhouse song that put Chubby Checker on the map--- "The Twist".

The Twist was for everyone of every age, you danced by yourself or together in groups and there was no limitation on the different variations and moves that you made. It was a the craze and rage of the early '60's and we discuss the worldwide impact it had and the multiple spinoffs that were recorded.

We move on to discuss the "British Invasion" that brought a whole new sound and fashion to America's shores back in 1964. Led by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dave Clark 5, Herman's Hermits, The Animals and many others.

We also discuss the impact of "Motown", "Philly Sound", James Brown and how that music tied into the social issues of the mid-sixties and the great artists that left an indelible mark on us. Bert literally worshipped at the alter of Motown and makes no apologies for his love of that genre.

Lastly Tom recommends 3 great Documentaries that showed how important the "musicians behind the scenes" were to so many amazing bands and artists. "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" featuring the Funk Brothers, "The Wrecking Crew" and Muscle Shoals", check them out!
