Description

In this episode hear Amara and her childhood best friend Zainab talk all about their adventures running through the streets of Amsterdam. When a Tinder date proves that all hope is not lost on dating apps, Zainab gets a taste of what the Dutch dating scene has to offer. The two provide insight into their “morning debrief” after a night out, which left Amara wondering how she is ever supposed to leave such an amazing city.

Together, they bravely address the deep-rooted trauma that accompanies the loss of a parent and the lasting effects of witnessing a parent battle cancer. As they embark on a quest to find the cure for imposter syndrome, the duo stumble upon a profound realization— the crucial importance of healing one’s inner child. Through candid, unedited conversations they unravel the complexities of trauma, explore the nuances of imposter syndrome, and discover the transformative power of nurturing the self.

This episode is a heartfelt tribute to Henrietta Elizabeth Jaffa (1972-2017). Through the laughter and tears shared in her honor, her impact echoes through the kindness and grace of the beautiful daughter she raised. Zainab, I am so lucky to know you and to call you a friend.
