Description

In this episode we talk about a concept discussed in the book. There is a chapter titled “What race are you running” that focuses on defining priorities and taking the steps necessary to get where you want go. We talk about how a marathon runner follows a specific training program to develop the endurance necessary to compete over 26 miles while a sprinter trains in a very different way to build explosive power out of the starting blocks.

In ordinary life, though, there is often a desire to have it all and to do it all. It’s hard to say no to anything, especially if you’re not entirely sure what you want out of life. A lot of people say they simply want to be happy, but they spend a lot of time pursuing things that don’t necessarily get them closer to actually being happy. They might be chasing money, or status or a whole variety of other things, but they never seriously consider how to define their race or figure out how to eliminate the distractions or the life pressures that take their attention away from the ultimate goal.

Brad offers some practical advice on how to gain perspective and break down seemingly insurmountable tasks into manageable pieces.
