On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are training hard for a fight to the death… with ourselves. We watched the Riley Stearns film from 2022, Dual.
I’m glad that someone has finally tackled the subject of what will happen when our inevitable clones learn to live for themselves and want to take over our lives. This is our future and we’re not considering it fully.
On the one hand, it could end up being a peaceful and productive coexistence. On the other hand, it could end up being a dystopian hellscape we’re hurtling toward with wanton abandon.
Who here wants to take that gamble? Consider also that it will surely only be the richest among us who’ll be able to afford this costly procedure. Do we really need more super wealthy people in this world?
All I’m saying is this could be bad. We should set a limit on this kind of thing right now: create duplicate Karen Gillans and then stop. She’s awesome and we could always use more of her.
