Description

There's only One.

The masses are demanding this podcast before I've had a chance to reflect and sum up an accurate description.

This bloke enjoys a launch. First bloke to crack beer, and quite often, many hours/days later, usually the last one to crack a beer. Rinse and repeat every weekend.

We here at Bottle. It don't celebrate, nor condone that behaviour when done responsibly. If you need that to achieve some moments of Positive Mental Health, play on.

The above is not what we're celebrating about Finchy.

Finchy is unique, Finchy had been and still is doing the above quite often. However, it's been his ability to flick a switch and run that has caught our eye.

I met him whilst supporting Nedd Brockmans 50 marathons in 50 days. Finchy was a regular, rocking up in board shorts and a shirt 2 sizes to big for him, it was quite a contrast to the rest of the running community with Nedd.

Very quickly the common phrase echoed to me was, there's only one.

He went from struggling to run 2ks, to running his first marra with Nedd in the space of a month. He feel in love with the feeling of being healthy. Not only continued to run, but continued to explore just how far he could go.

In his words when asked "why?" During his fist 100k run, he responded:

Why fucking not!?

This episode Finchy shares his journey with the Trot, balancing it with the Bend, practising visualisation, and sticking to a plan, regardless of time spent, or inadequate preparation.

I love this episode, this is a bloke showing a whole community, that you can do more, without the list of items and products that magazines and social media jam down your throat.

20 cliff bars and a pump bottle. Thats all you need to get from Newcastle to Sydney on foot.
