Pey Carter served in the United States Army and Wisconsin National Guard. Her life has taken around the world before settling down in Madison, Wisconsin. She has a B.A. in Sociology from Winona State University and a M.Div. from Iliff School of Theology. 

Pey has over a decade of experience working in the fields of mental health, Post-Traumatic Stress, invisible disabilities, and queer liberation. She is a sought-after public speaker whose message of resilience in the face of adversity has forged alliances with politicians, universities, non-profits, and congregations throughout North America.
