-So hockey is finally, actually over...SIKE! The Kraken's AHL affiliate, Coachella Valley Fire Birds are in the AHL final (Calder Cup). Led by familiar names like Shane Wright, Ty Kartye and Joey Daccord, they're up (3-0 or 2-1) and trophy hunting! | Thunderbirds won the WHL and went to Quebec to play in a sort of North American Champions League. They lost up there but all in all it was a phenomenal year for hockey in the PNW. |
The Storm continue to lose but they honored Sue Bird in a post-game ceremony last Sunday. She spoke for *literally* longer than any episode of this show has ever gone (1 hour 32 minutes), but she deserves it. Many of Sue's former teammates |
-were in attendance, including Lauren Jackson. |
- The Storm are 2-6 but still have 2 league leaders. Jewel Lloyd still leads the league in scoring average and Ezi Magbegor leads in blocks. Still an uphill climb for a team in the shadow of greatness. |
