Bullied by his boss, Akira worked around the clock, he's nothing more than a corporate drone. All it takes is a zombie outbreak for him to finally feel alive! This is based on the Manga by the Alice in Borderland creator (also on Netflix) and I have to say I didn't like it.
The long 2 hour and 9 minute movie had zero character progression, and the characters were not likeable. Akira, and the central characters ran around completely oblivious of the danger he was in, shouting in both his inside and outside voice, making stupid choices, as his Lothario friend Kencho is a coward and Shizuka is a lonely hard nosed girl who opens up after a splashy splashy time at a hot spring?
The musical montage of them having fun made me bring up bile. The music was awful. And, just when I thought it was going to get better when Akira's horrible boss appeared as leader of a community of survivors, it disappointed.
The 8 legged zombie shark was one of very few highlights.
4/10
I am hoping Netflix's next effort Zombiverse is better
