Description

Rachel developed a severe form of Scleroderma. After her second severe flare which required another hospitalization, she decided to work on healing. She researched how to help her (and all of ours) body(ies) to heal with a holistic approach. This included exercise, stretching, specific breathing and yoga. Soon after she implemented this program she realized that she was doing so well that she could forgo her immunosuppression. Rachel Lando is a teacher of yoga, movement, and anatomy. Rachel felt called to yoga and mindfulness following her diagnosis in 2012 with scleroderma, a rare autoimmune condition. She has since eased into a personal movement and meditation practice, certified as an E-RYT200 (Experienced Registered Yoga), and pursued advanced education and certification in mat + reformer pilates, Yoga Tune Up®, Roll Model Method®, Breath and Bliss, biomechanics, trauma-sensitive yoga, and mindfulness. Rachel is the founder of Patient Care Movement, co-founder of Mindful. Summit County, and hosts Anatomy and Physiology for Improved Fitness Communication, CE workshops for yoga professionals, movement enthusiasts, and the chronic illness community. She lives in Park City, UT, where she enjoys teaching weekly classes, being outdoors and spending time with her husband, her 7-year-old daughter, and her dog Jet.
