Carène holds a PhD in Second Languages from the University of Ottawa, she's a part-time professor, the co-founder and the co-host of The Unconventional Voices Podcast.

Throughout her doctoral studies, Dr. Pierre René has focused on “Black” English learning, or what Ibrahim (2004) calls Black Stylized English, among Black Canadian students. Her fields of interest are racialization, anti-racist education and language didactics.
Carène was encouraged by her parents to buy her first investment property and she was glad she did, lots of learning she did and she is going to share her story, join me.
