Description

If you were being super honest with yourself, could you see that motivation for doing many different things in your life has been for the want of being seen? The need for validation, good or bad?

As a writer and an Author, Jenny Valentish lives as the character of a book, several in fact; the Author that draws from direct experience, experiences motivated by the possibility of art resulting - exploring the most interesting of hobbies through the questions ‘how far will this body go?’ and ‘is it worthy enough to write about?’

Dipping her toes into the exploration of memoir through her first book – a fiction – called Cherry Bomb, Jenny then leaned in a lot deeper to the great self-reveal in her second book ‘Woman of Substances’, after which she was appointed as a board director of SMART Recovery Australia, a consultant for the University of NSW’s National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), and an ambassador for BrainPark, a project of Monash University’s Brain and Mental Health Laboratory. before – in her forties - kicking her way into  competitive combat sports, leading pen to paper for her third book,’ Everything Harder Than Everyone Else: Why Some of Us Push Our Bodies To Extremes.

This is a tale of leveraging the creation of art, to live the fullest life possible. Imagining the life experience written into words, living it and then sending it out into the world to be seen.  I wonder - does that idea entice you or terrify you? Do you seek out validation in your own way or do you duck for cover? This is a phenomenal tale of the human body, the fascinating machinations of the human mind and of great motivation to explore the enormous buffet of life.
