Russell Wilson’s name has popped up in trade rumors, with reports of “stray chatter” about a potential Bengals deal for a fifth-round pick. With Jaxson Dart now starting and proving himself against the Chargers, one of the Giants’ veteran backups could be expendable. The leverage game is on, with both sides waiting for the other to make the first move as the trade deadline looms.
Meanwhile, the Giants’ run defense continues to be a glaring weakness. Tied for last in the league in yards per carry allowed, the unit has been gashed repeatedly for explosive runs. Shane Bowen stressed tackling, swarming, and “changing the math” up front—but until the Giants prove they can stop giving up chunk plays, it’s the biggest worry heading into Sunday.
Jaxson Dart also has some extra motivation this week. He revealed that he met with the Saints multiple times before the draft and thought New Orleans might take him. Instead, they chose tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. Now Dart gets the chance to show the Saints what they missed, and he’s already won over Giants fans with his poise and toughness.
We also check in with Abdul Carter, who praised Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns while emphasizing the defensive standard: stop the run, rush the passer, and set the tone. If that front four can dominate, the Giants have a clear path to victory.
