H.E. Dina Kawar was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United States of America in June 2016. Ambassador Kawar also served as the Permanent Representative of Jordan to the United Nations from August 2014 to June 2016. She led the Jordanian delegation during Jordan’s non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council from 2014 to 2015. Ambassador Kawar became the first Arab woman to ever preside over the Council.
