In this episode of the Gaining Health Podcast, host and obesity expert, Karli Burridge, discusses a review article published in Frontiers in Endocrinology, Volume 13, in November 2022, about The Importance of Estradiol for Body Weight Regulation in Women.

Despite the general recognition that appetite changes throughout a woman's menstrual cycle and during periods of hormonal changes such as puberty, pregnancy, and menopause, estradiol, or women's hormones in general, are often not discussed when talking about appetite and weight regulation. Karli reviews the highlights of this review article, and discusses estradiol's direct and indirect impact on appetite and weight, and sheds light on the common concerns that many of our female patients present with.
