Can we ever experience peace with God if we are focused on the world?

Think about your time, talents, and treasures.  Where do you spend the majority of your time? How are you using the gifts God gave you?  Where are you swiping your credit card?  Are they God honoring or are they fulfilling our lusts and pleasures?  

He gives more grace!  GRACE – God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense

• Three Combat Commands – James 4:7-10

•  Submit to God Resist the Devil 
•  Draw near to God        Push the world away
•  Humble yourselves      Lay down your pride

Submit, draw near, and humble yourself.  Which one is the hardest for you?  Tell God and allow Him to soften your heart in that specific area!

• Three Considerations – James 4:8-12

(Prov 31:26; Eph 4:15; Phil 1:9-10)

• Are my words kind?
• Are my words helpful?
• Are my words true?

Proverbs 31:26 - She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

• Three Cautions – James 4:13-17

(Prov 27:1; Job 14:1-2; 1 Cor 1:31; 2 Peter 2:21; 1 John 1:9)

• Boast in the Lord, not man
• “If it pleases the Lord” or “Caution, course correction ahead”
• Ignorance to sin cannot be our excuse
