Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, Mary Magdelene, and Mary the Mother of Jesus all played important roles in the burial of Jesus. Joseph took custody of the Savior's body and prepared it for burial in his tomb, Nicodemus brought oils and spices fit for a king and the two Mary's were keeping vigil, not wanting to be separated from the Lord.
