Our biggest rival came to our house and this time we took care of business. Even without our Starboy, we managed to break the losing streak and voodoo of misfortunes against this City team. There wasn't much of Arsenal pretty plays until much later in the game. I doubt that was the emphasis. This chess match required high technical I.Q and awareness. We got lucky in a number of situations.
I picked out my top 3 players and struggled to decide the odd 1. This game, to me, was one where we got the best out of our impact players starting with Jorginho and Tomiyasu, creating the chain for the only goal in the game. It really mattered in this match and that gives more confidence to the squad - I think. Now more needs to be said about the lack of goal-threat and finishes within the box. I don't expect that to go away until the numbers and effects turn in the right direction. For now, this win is in the history books and will carry the team forward.
