I had the great pleasure of chatting to Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids about his music career over the many years he has been a valued artist in the scene.
Some of you might recognise Slyder from the band "Last Great Dreamers" where he rose to fame, the band were once signed to the same record label that Metallica were signed to! How awesome is that?!
Passionately known as Dreamers, they toured all over Europe and played many high end gigs but all good things must eventually come to an end, so Slyder plucked up the courage to go it alone and if you've listened to his music then you'll be extremely glad he did, he is simply wonderful!
He released his first album last year and it has gone from strength to strength and has since been aired internationally and on Radio 2.
If you haven't already then make sure you listen to his rocked up version of Never Ending Story, he's put his own stamp on it, added a bit more guitar and sprinkled it with guest vocals from Nina Courson of Healthy Junkies!
Check out his album, its definitely one to blast in your car with the windows down...I have a challenge for you all.. Try not to groove along when listening , I failed 10 seconds into When The Rain Comes!!
I'm absolutely gutted I didn't get chance to chat to him at RockWich Festival where he played a fantastic set, but you know what they say? Good things are worth waiting for!
