Hello and Welcome to another episode of our show. As the Psalmists wrote: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before You. Mercy and Justice seem to be diametrically opposed, one says that the punishment must fit the crime, while the other offers the hope of a second chance. How do we reconcile these principles, and is there a time where it’s alright to admit that we don’t understand and that its enough to trust God?Today’s guest, Dick Staaf, was a Police Officer and a private detective for over 20 years. He has seen humanity at its worst and He has seen justice fail to follow through. But on the other hand, he has also seen the love of God through his work in Young Life, Capernaum and through his affiliation with the Salvation Army. And because of these oppositional experiences, Dick has wrestled with the very questions of how Justice and Mercy play out in God’s Kingdom. And that question is at the heart of today’s interview.Mr. Staaf is a man of God and a father of four and a father figure to many more proving, once again, that you can share the love of God wherever he places you. So join special guest Dick Staaf along with our hosts Tom O’Boyle and Nate Devlin on this episode of the Scattered Seeds Podcast, where every life has a story.
