“The primary light we need to participate in democracy, to serve the common good, and to dwell as faithful citizens of the City of God is shed not by the Washington Post but by “the light of the world” (Jn 8:12).” That line is from the book Reading the Times, A Literary and Theological Inquiry into the News by today’s guest Jeff Bilbro. Jeff teaches in the English department at Grove City College and is a 36 year old who insists on nothing smarter than a flip phone, and who wrote large portions of the book on paper. His quick wit, love for good books and most importantly his love for the Lord made his conversation with Tom and Nate an enjoyable one. So join Tom, Nate and Jeff as the discuss Christian Formation, The news and its impact on our world, and a good book or two. But first a word from our sponsors. A past guest on our show, David Ayers, just began a new series of video lectures on Christian Marriage at Grove City College, which is a sponsor of our show. Welcome back to the scattered seeds podcast, the show where every life has a story.
