Description

Lindsley Kump (she/her) is a mama, wife, fur baby mom, and a runner. She is an advocate and activist who elevates the BIPOC communities in the outdoor space where they can feel safe and welcomed, having equitable access to outdoor spaces and equitable leadership and employment opportunities within the outdoor industry. She started running again as an adult as a part of her weight loss journey and she quickly fell in love with distance running. She is originally from Hawaii but she has called Colorado home for the past 18 years. Lindsley has fallen in love with the mountains and trails. As a Black female runner, she looks to bring more inclusivity and representation to the running/trail running community in Colorado. Lindsley is a board member for Girls on the Run Rockies.

*Content warning: we talk briefly about eating disorders.

Lindsley and I talk about her running journey and how she was hesitant to go to a gym. She speaks about the importance of embracing your body and taking care of yourself. We discuss having a small community of people around you who supports and loves you. Lindsley drops lots of wisdom and mantras for you all to take with you:  "Gratitude Turns What We Have Into Enough"  - "It's Your Run" - "Let It Flow" - "Bend but Don't Break" - "Live in Your Truth".  It's GOLD, people!

Lindsley lives on Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱, Tséstho’e, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ and Arapaho land.
