This year I turned the big 40.
No big deal.
Or so I thought.
But after the birthday celebrations ended I felt off.
Really off.
Like something was wrong.
Or missing.
But what?
I created all those things my younger adult self wanted…the career, the house, the relationship, the money, the travel.
Enter midlife crisis. Or as I like to call it midlife re-evaluation.
Many people go through some variation of a 'midlife crisis' usually between the ages of 35-65. The timing is different for each of us and it may be associated with a major life event such as having children, children leaving the nest, a change in relationship, a change in career, a move, the death of a loved one, etc.
For me, this restlessness started in the past two years, but hit really hard this year.
It felt like I was being forced to re-evaluate my life and take note of how I was showing up and what was working and what wasn’t working so well…yes, this means in my relationships, health and career/purpose/fulfillment.
It felt like a call to take full responsibility for the results (or lack of results) I create in all areas of my life and to be VERY intentional about what I focus on and how I spend my time and energy in the second half of my life...and a huge nudge to leave behind any 'self-sabotaging' behavior that was stopping me from being my best self and creating my best life.
In this week’s podcast, I share more about my experiences navigating my ‘midlife crisis’ and the realizations I’ve had. I also share how we can use this experience to help us build a purposeful and fulfilling business that leaves the world a better place…and do it in a way that feels aligned...this is so important!
