As a first generation child (and 30-something-ish years later) I have stayed silent about any feelings or thoughts on the reality of settling in a HUGE family (let alone a family filled with immigrants who had to assimilate to the US). Today, we are sitting down and BREAKING DOWN the barrier of "being the first" in the family, whether that me graduating, getting a "successful job"
