Heather Atchison started her run story when she joined a girls' soccer team in high school despite never having played soccer before. She continued running after high school, participated in a 5K for breast cancer awareness, and eventually joined the running community in Mobile, Alabama. She met her husband through running and has since completed multiple 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and nine full marathons. She plans to do her 10th marathon at the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the end of the year.

Heather mentions that her favorite running memory is seeing Bowdoin at the end of the Louisiana Marathon and her favorite recovery tool is a foam roller. She also talks about her favorite cross-training activity, which is swimming. Heather shares that she broke her ankle two and a half years ago and turned to swimming as a way to keep up her exercise routine while recovering from the injury.

Heather discusses the upcoming Old Mobile 8K race, which is a memorial event for her late husband and features a special t-shirt designed by a local artist.
