I also love when entrepreneurs from a fossil fuel, or ‘dirty’ world see the light and create great cleantech businesses. Never has energy been a bigger topic in the average household. The silver lining in the present energy and inflation crisis is that cleantech solutions make even more financial sense, as well as reducing carbon emissions. I talk to Alex about his business, his technology and the future of the Grid.About Alex Bazhinov: An inventor and entrepreneur, Alex is driven by the vision of the energy grid that encompasses the many distributed energy resources. He had the idea for Lumin while tending to his first start up, DreamPower, which he founded at the University of Virginia’s iLab while earning his graduate degree at UVA’s Darden School of Business. Alex hails from Moscow, Russia, where he held senior finance positions in global firms–spending six years at Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest nickel and palladium producer, and as CFO at the global manufacturing conglomerate, Sandvik.Alex’s passion for a business challenge is aligned with his concern for the planet, having witnessed first-hand the negative impact of fossil fuel production around the world.
