Day 264 — The Kingdom Way
Matthew 5
The values of the kingdom of God often look completely upside down compared to the values of the world.
The world says chase power.
Jesus says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit.”
The world says protect yourself.
Jesus says, “Blessed are the merciful.”
The world says win at all costs.
Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
The world says seek applause.
Jesus says remain faithful even when obedience costs you.
The Beatitudes are not a checklist for earning salvation. They are a picture of the kind of person Jesus is forming when His kingdom takes hold of a life.
The proud become humble.
The hard-hearted become merciful.
The compromised begin to hunger for righteousness.
Those who live for approval learn to live for Christ.
And Jesus Himself perfectly lived everything He taught.
The kingdom of God does not simply change where we are going someday—it changes who we are becoming today.
