DAY 268 — POWER OVER ALL
📖 Mark 5
🎙️ The Story of Scripture with Pastor John
Mark 5 brings us face-to-face with three enemies humanity cannot ultimately conquer on its own:
Demons. Disease. Death.
A man no one could control.
A woman no doctor could heal.
A little girl no one could save.
Three impossible situations.
One sovereign Savior.
Jesus speaks—and demons obey.
A suffering woman reaches for Him—and twelve years of suffering end.
Jesus takes a dead little girl by the hand and says, “Talitha cumi”—“Little girl, arise.”
And death itself releases its grip.
Mark 5 reminds us that Jesus isn't merely powerful.
He is compassionate.
He crosses the sea for a tormented man everyone else avoided.
He stops in a crowd for a suffering woman others overlooked.
He enters a grieving home and takes a little girl by the hand.
Maybe you're facing something today that feels impossible.
A broken relationship.
A prodigal child.
A frightening diagnosis.
A temptation you can't seem to defeat.
A grief you don't know how to carry.
A situation that seems beyond repair.
Remember:
Your situation may be beyond your power—but it is never beyond His.
Mark 5 doesn't promise that Jesus will always change our circumstances according to our timetable.
It promises us something greater:
Jesus is still Lord.
Lord over darkness.
Lord over disease.
Lord over death.
Lord over the impossible.
So when you're afraid, remember His words to Jairus:
“Do not fear, only believe.”
Keep trusting Him.
Nothing you face today is greater than the Savior who holds you.
Jesus has power over all.
