Day 269 — “The Bread of Life”
John 6
The crowd followed Jesus because He had fed them, but Jesus wanted them to understand that their greatest need was not another meal.
He told them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
Everything this world offers is temporary. Success fades. Money runs out. Possessions wear down. Even the bread Jesus multiplied only satisfied the crowd for a little while.
But Jesus offers something greater.
He does not simply give bread. He is the Bread of Life.
Our deepest need is not more comfort, more success, or easier circumstances. Our deepest need is forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life—and those are found in Christ alone.
So today, stop asking temporary things to satisfy an eternal hunger.
Come to Jesus.
Trust Jesus.
Rest in Jesus.
The world can fill your hands and still leave your heart empty. But when you have Christ, you have the Bread of Life.
