Day 272 — “The Good Shepherd” John 10 | The Story of Scripture
There are a thousand voices competing for your attention. Culture, fear, temptation, emotions, and the opinions of others. But there is only One whose voice leads to eternal life.
Jesus declares in John 10:11:
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Unlike a hired hand who runs when danger comes, Jesus does not abandon His sheep. He knows them. He calls them. He protects them. And He willingly laid down His life to save them.
At the cross, the Good Shepherd did what no ordinary shepherd could ever do—He died in the place of His sheep and rose again to give them eternal life.
And what a promise He gives in John 10:28:
“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
Our security is not found in how tightly we can hold on to Jesus, but in the power of the Savior who holds us.
So today, ask yourself:
Am I listening to His voice? Am I following His Word? Am I resting in His care?
Whatever season you are walking through, remember this:
The Good Shepherd never loses sight of His sheep.
He knows where you are. He knows what you need. And the One who was willing to die to save you will never abandon you along the way.
