DAY 281 — LOVE ONE ANOTHER
John 13
Jesus knew the cross was coming.
And what did He do?
He picked up a towel.
The King of kings got down on His knees and washed the dirty feet of His disciples—even knowing Peter would deny Him and Judas would betray Him.
That’s what love looks like.
Jesus said:
“Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” — John 13:34
The world says greatness is having people serve you.
Jesus says greatness is being willing to serve others.
So maybe the question today isn’t, “Who is taking care of me?”
Maybe it’s:
Whose feet can I wash?
Who can you encourage?
Who can you forgive?
Who can you help?
Who can you serve without needing recognition?
Who can you love even when they haven’t earned it?
Jesus didn’t simply tell us to love.
He showed us how.
The hands that washed His disciples’ feet would soon be stretched out on a cross for their sins—and ours.
