Day 283 — “That They May Be One” | John 17
In John 17, we get to listen in as Jesus prays just hours before the cross. And what is on His heart? His followers.
Jesus prays that we would be protected, sanctified by the truth, faithful to the mission, and united as one.
Christian unity does not mean ignoring truth or pretending differences do not matter. It means that our shared allegiance to Christ is greater than our pride, preferences, bitterness, and disagreements.
Jesus said our unity would become a testimony to the world: “that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
The way believers love one another says something about the Jesus we proclaim.
So today, ask yourself: Is there any pride, unforgiveness, bitterness, or division in my heart that is working against the unity Jesus prayed for?
Choose grace. Pursue peace. Protect unity. Stay grounded in truth.
Jesus prayed that we would be one. Let’s live like His prayer matters.
