Day 290 — “Follow Me” | John 21
Peter had denied Jesus three times, but failure did not have the final word. After His resurrection, Jesus met Peter beside the sea—near another charcoal fire—and gave him the opportunity to confess his love three times.
Then Jesus entrusted Peter with the care of His people: “Feed my sheep.” He did not erase Peter’s failure or pretend it had never happened. He met him with mercy, restored him to service, and called him forward: “Follow me.”
John 21 reminds us that Christ knows us completely. He sees our weakness, meets us with grace, and calls us to faithful obedience. Our past failures do not have to define our future when we turn back to Jesus. And our calling is not to compare our lives with someone else’s. It is to keep our eyes on Christ and follow Him wherever He leads.
Listen to today’s episode of Story of Scripture as we consider the risen Savior who restores failing disciples and gives them a new step of faith.
