Day 14 — Faith Tested Through Suffering | Job 1

As we move from Genesis into the book of Job, we’re stepping into a deeper conversation about faith. Genesis shows us God as Creator, Covenant-Keeper, and Promise-Maker. Job shows us what faith looks like when those promises are tested through suffering.

Job’s world didn’t fall apart slowly—it collapsed in a single day. His possessions were taken. His livelihood was destroyed. His children were gone. And in the silence that followed, Job was left with nothing but God.

What stands out isn’t just what Job lost, but how he responded. Scripture tells us that Job fell to the ground and worshiped. Not because he understood what was happening, but because his faith was never rooted in the blessings themselves. His devotion was anchored in who God is.

This transition matters. Genesis teaches us who God is and what He promises. Job teaches us how to trust God when life doesn’t make sense and prayers seem unanswered.

Here’s the hard but necessary truth: faith is not fully revealed when life is comfortable, but when comfort is removed.Anyone can praise God when things are going well. True devotion is revealed when worship costs us something—when explanations are absent and the road ahead is unclear.

If you’re walking through loss or suffering today, Job’s story reminds us that pain does not mean abandonment, and silence does not mean God has left. Even when everything else is stripped away, God remains worthy of our trust.

➡️ Faith that endures suffering reveals who we truly trust.
